Canon PowerShot
A70
Review
of the Canon PowerShot A70:
The Canon
PowerShot A70 offers a lot of features for the money and the picture quality
is highly praised. Ease of use is a significant plus point for the Canon
PowerShot A70, offering simple point and click functionality in Auto mode
with a large range of manual features for the more experienced user. Users
of the Canon PowerShot A70 particularly like the movie mode which, offering
up to 3 minutes of playback, allows you to take longer movies than a lot
of other cameras. The bundled software that comes with the Canon PowerShot
A70 is very good quality and relatively easy to use. The Canon PowerShot
A70 takes AA batteries which are easy to come by, but, as with all digital
cameras, rechargeable batteries are worth considering. The design and
build of the Canon PowerShot A70 are excellent. The camera is noted for
being compact yet secure and comfortable to hold. It is not too heavy
and has a solid feel to it.

i cant find one fault with this camera, it is absolutely brilliant, i
dont think i could take a bad photo if i even wanted too!!! ok the memory
is small but you can get bigger card, its not a problem. there are so
many features i heve not begun to sort them out yet, i,m still overjoyed
at getting great results on auto. it will even take bout 1 minute of video
with 16 meg card you are given, i think thats good! any way if you thinking
bout this camera check out argos, i paid 150£ instead of 300£ in the half
price sale, probably coz the a80 is out now, i cant imagine it being any
better though. buy it!!!!

Excellent results when you customize the settings and the picture is taken
in a fair lighting environment. This camera goes for professionals/semi-professionals
only.

The Canon Powershot A70 is my first digital camera. I have been using
my Canon SLR for many years shooting 35mm film and was rather reluctant
to change over to digital. I wanted a compact camera but didn't want to
compromise on the benefits of my SLR kit. The A70 was the only camera
I found at the time that had optional lenses that could provide me with
a range from 28mm wide angle to over 200mm telephoto without any loss
of image quality. I was very pleased with the sharp, bright images and
depth of colour that can be easily blown up to A4 size and larger. Although
other reviews have commented that the four AA batteries make the camera
a little heavy, I find this to be an advantage as I find lighter cameras
more difficult to hold steady.
