Review of the Fuji FinePix A500 Zoom

The Fuji FinePix A500 is very similar in specification to the Fuji FinePix A400 but offers more megapixels (5.1) and a higher digital zoom factor (5.2x.) Otherwise the LCD screen is the same size (a modest 1.8") and movies are still only recorded at 10 frames per second, unlike the 15 frames per second to be found on the Fuji FinePix A350. A fairly standard entry level point and shoot camera then, from a quality manufacturer at a not unreasonable price.

Fantastic camera. Nice crisp images with good colour and perfect contrast. The zoom works well and the macro mode is particularly impressive allowing you to get as close as 3 inches from the subject. 8" by 10" prints look great. Can't fault it.
