Review of the Fuji FinePix E510 Zoom

The Fuji FinePix E510 Zoom is one step up from the E500, offering 5.2 megapixels instead of 4.1 and a very slightly higher digital zoom at 3.9x instead of 3.6x. The optical zoom is the same in both cameras, at 3.2x.

The E-series range of cameras is designed for the more serious user than the A-series range. E-series cameras are virtually the same dimensions as the A-series, but are slightly heavier (170g for the E500 and E510, excluding batteries.) More importantly they have an ergonomic grip making them easier to handle.

What really distinguishes the E-series is the wider angle offered by the lens (equivalent to 28-91 cm on a 35mm equivalent lens for the E510.) This will enable you to get more into the shot. The E-series is also capable of accepting wide angle and tele-photo conversion lenses so these cameras have the ability to get quite powerful.

The E500 and E510 still only record movies at 10 frames per second, so you'll need to look to the E550 for something better if this is important to you.

Nice Compact Digital camera with automatic & manual controls; provision for add on (conversion) lenses and probably the only camera in this range with a wide angle (28mm) Lens and a setting for chrome colors.

This camera has everything you need, it's easy to use and its ability to attach additional lenses is a huge plus for the more advanced photographer. It is also available at a great price.

Ive recently upgraded from a Fuji S304 to the E510 and this camera has the lot!! Its excellent build quality and very high resolution pictures are very very good indeed!! This is by far the best camera i have ever seen never mind owned. All i need now is a equally good printer to make the most out of the camera...ha ha
