Fuji FinePix S9500 Zoom

Fuji FinePix S9500 ZoomReview of the Fuji FinePix S9500 Zoom

The Fuji FinePix S9500 Zoom is a real enthusiast's camera and a potential alternative to an SLR for those who don't want to spend a fortune or can do without the hassle of changing lenses. With 9 megapixels and a 10.7x optical zoom lens equivalent to 28-300mm on a 35mm camera this camera is a serious contender in the high end range of digital cameras. The zoom lens can also be used during movie filming. The camera offers both automatic and manual controls. The tilting LCD screen has live view so you can use it to compose shots instead of using the viewfinder, although at only 1.8 inches it's not huge.

I bought this camera 2 weeks ago & to date the two weeks of using this superior camera have been a pleasure,Three months prior to buying this camera I bought the Fuji S5600 this camera is near perfect in every thing it does & the S9500 is a top of the ladder upgrade for me though I like the S5600 so much that I have kept it as my second camera in two weeks i have taken over 800 photos with the S9500 & very few have ended in the recycle bin.Photoshop has been a bit redundant! Well done FUJI from A very happy Fuji 9500/5600 user...Love them both but the S9500 Wowwwwww

I have had this camera a few months after upgrading from the S5600. What a difference! This is clearly for those who like to dabble in photography and experiment with settings, but can't afford the jump to the pro cameras. If you just want a point and shoot camera then this is a bit overkill, otherwise this is as close to the real SLR thing without the cost and hassle of carrying umpteen lenses around. The quality of build is excellent sits comfortably in your hand and handles like a true SLR except it has the extras a digital slr posseses. Used it in a pop concert with the adjustable LCD screen ideal for taking photos over peoples heads! The only downside is that the screen is a bit small. However it can be lived with. All typical slr features, Multi bracketing, exposure compensation, a good range of iSO settings and a great zoom. The information feature that shows the live exposure of the photo is excellent (no need to wait to take the photo to see if it is right, a histogram highlights the areas that are not exposed properly!) I have produced some lovely poster size prints off this and it will be some years before I will consider even changing. Best on market at its price in my view
