Kodak DX7590
Zoom
Review
of the Kodak DX7590 Zoom
The Kodak
DX7590 Zoom is the successor to the DX6490.
Like its predecessor it has a huge 10x optical zoom lens plus a 3x digital
zoom. The zoom capability is, therefore, superb for a compact camera.
The megapixel count is higher than the DX6490, now at 5MP. With 16 scene
modes, 5 colour modes and movie mode (all listed below) this camera offers
a fantastic range of creative options. The LCD, at 2.2", is larger
than average (most LCDs are around 2 inches) so this is good for menu
navigation. Definitely a camera for the more serious or adventurous compact
user.
Features
of the Kodak DX7590 Zoom include:
- 10x Optical Zoom Lens
- 5.0 Megapixels
- 32 MB internal memory plus SD/MMC expansion slot
- Exclusive KODAK Color Science Image Processing Chip
- 2.2" high-resolution indoor/outdoor display
- Auto picture-rotation

Got this excellent camera for Christmas. Replacing my old Kodak LS443.
Simple to use in "Auto Mode" although it does have many manual controls
for the more serious photographer if required. Picture quality is excellent
including up to A4 size (couldn't distinguish between DX7590 and SLR from
Photolab). I also bought a Kodak Docking Station which is handy for charging
the battery and for downloading pictures to PC if required. Highly Recommended.

Pro's: Easy of Use; Point and shoot autofocus; Optical zoom is incredible
at 10X versus most cameras. Good value. Con's: In the sport mode you cannot
use the flash to the best of my knowledge. So if you want the camera to
take a series of 5 consecutive photos it better be well lit.
