Great camera as long as you don't get the error E45 which locks camera
up and prevents the lens from closing. This is the same problem I understand
that many other Kodak LS743 owners have had. I took the whole darn thing
apart as recommended by other owners, and wonders of wonders it started
working. I have owned only two digital cameras, both of them Kodak, and
both of them failed. I like the pictures but I think my next camera will
NOT be a Kodak.

Great camera as long as you don't get the error E45 which locks camera
up and prevents the lens from closing. Kodak will not fix it but will
give you a discount on a newer model. Kodak says lens assembly has to
be replaced and the repair is more than what the camera is worth. I got
the cursed E-45 error and fixed it myself. Just unscrew the 8 little screws
and set aside. Remove battery. Take both panels off and blow out dust/sand/dirt/etc
with compressed air/contact cleaner you get from radio shack. Install
battery and turn on to test. If ok put back together. E-45 means there
is a problem with the lens retracting. More than likely a sand particle.
Good luck!

E45 error .... As many other owners of this piece of junk my kodak camera
showed the same. Didn't have the time or patience to send it back to kodak
so ... undid 3 long screws from side and 4 short ones from base - prised
apart carefully and cleaned the circular metal bit which is underneath
selection dial. Put camera back together again and after re-setting the
date and time, it all works perfectly. Kodak are ripping us off if they
make us send back cameras for expensive repair when all it needs is a
clean contact with the switch... something our local camera shop could
do on the spot...Excellent work from rita.. i follow the instructions
above and in five minutes the camera was able to shot again the difficult
part of the procedure was to find a small screwdriver after that everything
was a piece of tsoureki..(christmas cake in Greece hoho)
