Nikon, a very good brand name in traditional photography, has also proved
itself in Digital Arena. I had made a good impact on many customers by
leveraging its brandname. All the Cams from Nikon till now have been for
simple user, until it came out with Nikon Coolpix 5700. The model was
a very good offering from nikon but was priced very high as compared to
the customers expectations. It's now almost 2 years old and the prices
have hit the floor, which makes it a very attactive buy. It's now value
for money and it's a good No Nonsense Digital camera. So it's meant for
enthu and advanced users. The main specs are - Robust Built - 8x Optical
zoom (Minolta Z series is although better..) - 5-Megapixel CCD for images
up to 2560 x 1920 pixels. - Macro focus with AF as close as 1.2" - Rotating
270°, 1.5" color LCD monitor(not big enuf) - Shutter speeds from 1/4000
sec. to 8 secs (Adv user) - Aperture settings from F2.8 to F10.3 in 10
steps Well I have not seen any bad features as of now, still exploring
this unit, and I think its a lil bulky already. But then all the serious
cameras are bigger in size, unlike the slim collection which offer only
basic features. Internal Menus are lil tricky, but very smart once known.
Flash cud have been more powerfull. currently you should get this pack
@ $ 450 - 500 max US or Rs.22000 - Rs.25000 / - in India.
