Review of the Nikon Coolpix S6

The Nikon Coolpix S6 is a very slim, stylish compact camera measuring only 21mm in depth. It has a high 6 megapixel resolution and a 3x optical zoom lens which is standard for a point and shoot camera. It has a very large LCD monitor measuring 3.0" in diameter. The LCD monitor is a TFT type monitor meaning that it is viewable in bright sunlight.

This camera is Wi-Fi enabled so you can send pictures to your computer straightaway. Images can be transferred to a compatible printer using the optional Wireless Printer Adaptor PD-10.

A fun feature with this camera is the PictMotion by muvee function. This enables you to view a pre-selected range of images in your chosen style and with a soundtrack, either on the camera or on the TV using the included Cool-Station. The camera has 5 music files already installed and you can load other mp3 files using an SD card.

There is a Face-priority feature that focuses automatically on faces when taking portraits. Nikon's D-Lighting feature is designed to improve the exposure in those parts of the image where it is needed. There are 15 pre-set scene modes.The menu operates in 20 languages.

I purchased this camera in black. Incredibly stylish, nice form with the wave design and all. Was a little skeptical at first about ultracompacts in general but boy was I wrong. This camera takes INCREDIBLE pictures, Very Sharp, nearly grainless to say the least, image quality in low to no light is quite impressive, movie mode is spotless as well. Nikon has made another excellent product. Extremely impressed with the camera and loaded with functions. Get it.
