Nikon Coolpix
S9
Review
of the Nikon Coolpix S9
Compared to other Nikon "S" series cameras,
the Nikon Coolpix S9 is a fairly straightforward model and this is reflected
in the price. It has a high 6 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom and
a 2.5" LCD screen. Key Nikon features include the D-Lighting function
to rescue underexposed images, Face-Priority AF mode for better portrait
shots and an in-camera red-eye fix. There are 15 scene modes to help you
get the right settings for different lighting conditions. This camera
does have an internal memory of 24MB which is somewhat higher than the
12-16MB found in most other Nikon "S" series cameras. Movies
are recorded at 30 frames per second and a stop-motion movie function
brings still images to life so you can create your own animations. This
camera has all the essential Nikon "S" series features but without
some of the extra bells and whistles to be found on, say, the Nikon
Coolpix S7c. The S9 therefore offers good value at an affordable price.
