Olympus FE-170
Review
of the Olympus FE-170
The Olympus FE-170 belongs to the Olympus "Easy" range
of digital cameras. It is a point and shoot camera aimed at the general
user who wants something fairly decent but easy to operate and at a sensible
price. The camera has a high resolution of 6 megapixels for image clarity.
The zoom ratios are 3x for optical zoom and 4x for digital zoom, which
are both absolutely typical for this class of camera. The internal memory
of this camera is quite low (only 10MB) so Olympus clearly expect you
to be using a memory card. The LCD screen is a good size, measuring 2.5"
in diameter. There are 10 scene modes to help you get the best shot in
different situations: Sports, Indoor, Candle, Self portrait, Sunset, Fireworks,
Behind Glass, Cuisine, Documents and Auction. The camera has a movie feature
and records in QuickTime Motion JPEG format. The camera is compatible
with USB 2.0 high-speed connection for quick downloading to a computer.
