Review of the Olympus MJU 1000

The Olympus MJU 1000 has a very high resolution of 10 megapixels for crystal sharp images and a 3x optical zoom lens. Like other cameras in the MJU range it is finished in a durable, stainless steel, weatherproof body in silver. The MJU 1000 is great camera for use in low-light photography because of Olympus' BrightCapture Technology. The MJU 1000 has a maximum ISO value of 6400 which enables low-light shooting without a flash, making pictures appear more natural. BrightCapture Technology also works by increasing the brightness of the LCD screen so you can see what you're photographing. The LCD screen measures 2.5" and uses 230,000 pixels which is twice the number of pixels found in the MJU 600 and MJU 700 although they also had 2.5" LCDs. In the MJU 1000 Olympus have made BrightCapture available in movie mode as well. The MJU 1000 has a Digital Image Stabilisation Edit feature for decreasing blurriness due to camera shake. Additionally, a Perfect Fix Button corrects problems caused by image blur, backlighting and red-eye. There are 20 scene modes available with the MJU 1000 - Portrait, Landscape, Landscape with Portrait, Night scene, Night scene with portrait, Sports, Indoor, Candle, Self portrait, Available Light Portrait, Sunset, Fireworks, Museum, Cuisine, Behind Glass, Documents, Auction, Shoot & Select 1, Shoot & Select 2 and Beach & Snow.
