Olympus MJU 600
Review
of the Olympus MJU 600
The Olympus MJU 600 is one of Olympus' older MJU models
but still represents very good value for money. It is available in blue,
red or silver and like all cameras in the MJU range features a weatherproof,
all-metal body. It has a 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom which are
both standard in this class of compact digital camera. The LCD measures
2.5" and has 115,000 pixels. Olympus have increased the LCD pixel
count in some of their later modes, for example the MJU 740 and MJU 1000.
The LCD does, nevertheless, use Olympus' BrightCapture Technology for
a brighter LCD screen in low light. There are 23 scene modes available
with this camera. When using the camera in automatic mode the sensitivity
settings range from ISO 64 - 400, with ISO 2500 available for certain
of the dim lighting scene modes. The ISO setting can be adjusted manually
from ISO 64 to ISO 1600. Retailing for less than £150, this camera
has all the basic functionality of the MJU range and is good value for
money.
